Coming into this introduction was informative of the nature of the two sides of our brain. The left side excelles in analysis and the Right side recognizes patturns and interprets emotion. I am a previous reader of Betty Edwards "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain." After reading her book I went on a "left brain/right brain small talk spree." Now, reading this book my ideas of polarizing or labeling these two sides have changed and I have become more sensitive to these steriotypes. I pulled a quote from the book that I found straight forward in true understanding about his information about this chapter is:
"The Reality, as is so often the case with reality, is more nuanced." - D.H.P.
Each hemisphere is simply a carrier of different tools or tools that need eachother (one side being the hammer and the other is the nail). I also enjoyed the pictures included. I was engaged more with a visual connection each reaction that effected certain parts of the brain durring the MRI session. Including photographs really carried me in throught the MRI experience with Daniel. I wonder what side of his brain was reacting more when he got to see the first glance at his own brain.
