What is New Media?

The youth friendly website, UrbanDictionary.com loosely labels "new media" as,

"A buzz word coined by morning news host (like Katie Couric) to refer to "new" mediums of media."

Clearly we still cannot put our thumb or our ever changing "authoric" dictionary term on this manipulating beast. Using Katie Couric as creating this word is a little too detailed to start. Publications made by internet authors will change our insight to this idea of what new media truly is in a way that we are constantly feeding ideas off one another. I parcially agree with the written preparation a society contributes on the web to our online form to help better our understanding of a term.

New media to me is media that is forming without "the breaks". The breaks are referred to a media that becomes steadily reliable and accessible to the masses. Without new media created gives you, "the breaks" which is generally just, "media". Old media could refer to a past reliable media that once was a new media. Within large masses it is difficult to keep your head above water in the r helm of new media as an artist because of the constant flow of ideas branching from the current viewed media which almost travels like a river. My final judgment is that new media is an omnipresent view of media by the masses. The word "new" helps define our judgement to a less broad expectation of the term, "media." Thank-you Katie for your contribution of articulation.
