Reanne Estrada
I was highly baffled when meeting Reanne. Seeing the artist almost seems surreal and then hearing their description of the works in a gallery is tremendously inspiring. She was able to fill in the gaps of just looking up at the pieces on the wall. The erasers were hidding on me until I took a closer look. Her eraser works took a new spin on ones interpretation of, "new media," in a way that she utilizes her eraser medium which we almost forget we are molding and changing every time we erase. I enjoyed her elaborate choices for her process. Her deciscion to find erasers rather than create them keeps her in the ballpark of new media also. Reanne's concern was more about how this product can become something and can change or be altered and aranged within the eraser.I enjoyed her presentation giving advice. Leaving the Gallery I could not get out of my head an important message she revealed, "play with others." A very straight forward message and one to follow. Her last description of the M.O.B. was a great showing of playing with others.
