3,2,1,0 drawings are a 4 step activity of ways to think about breaking out of rigid drawing for students. Each number represents the number of lines to be used in drawing from observation. The time frame to work on these can be drawn out or quick 10 second gestures. It is important to do this activity in the order from 3 to O (or a higher number to a lower number but always finishing on zero) because when zero is reached then students must find a way to draw a line without touching the paper. This "finding a line with zero" part (at the end) encourages the cross referencing of other perspective with visualizing line.
I digress!
I have been constantly taking notes and am very excited to be teaching Self-Portraiture at my school starting in March until the end of the semester! If you ever want to be a thought provoking teacher to the relevance of art in the present moment then just become reborn Here.
