metaphorical energy crisis on love

It's very easy to get wrapped up in 'other ornamental things' so much, to the point where another person's utilitarian wealth goes unappreciated, similar to blindly owning a Hummer without caring for the long term effects even when you are in the middle of an oil shortage (there are so many examples of long term outcomes!). Once all the gas is gone, people love to say, 'Well why didn't you drive a smaller car?" or, "Why this or that?!"-into a blaming fiasco and also into a fond appreciation for the previous time with having their Hummer. Some would even joyously say, "Wow I totally didn't even care about it until I realized how much it was actually worth to me now." The fact of the matter is, the deceiving surplus of oil inside the heart of the earth was running out quick without consideration to it's warning signs and it's concept of the suppressing, "Okay-ness" was driven so far down a road to where the Hummer just, ran out of gas. At the end the weak amount of gas in the vehicle putts or pouts, i don't know which one it could be...

Side Note:
I hope when the real actual shortage comes in the physical sense, that this made up story of just driving till there's no gas, then reflecting for an hour in a mindless stupor in a hummer isn't how we are going down. I, only vouching for myself, will totally have a garden and a bike with 3 U-locks attached to it, a couple years prior. I'm okay with that! heh. back to the basics, we are so simple, it's not even funny!
