The chart of Figure 3.1 is extremely helpful in thinking about where we stand as thinkers and what is before us. We have reached the conceptual age of creators and empathizers! We must challenge the L directed world with creativity and we must become more patient and excell in details to survive. This book is unique for it's translation of our fuction today. In this chapter it's explains how more americans work in the arts, entertainment, and design than work as lawyers, accountants, and auditors. Also how the information age is now being challenged by metaphores and ones capacity to be uplifting. SAT tests are loosing it's flair and the calutation of R directed thinking is becoming more welcomed. With abundance traveling into the material world there is more detail and consciousness in leisure, fun and meaning.
"After decades of pursuing riches, wealth seems less alluring. For them, and for many others in this new era, meaning is the new money" -D.H.P.
I can completely agree with that. Aspiring to become a teacher, I have decided to not call it teaching as much as I would like to call it, "Inspirering" Money isnt my priority as much as opening a students mind to new ways of thinking is. Over this summer I have been carrying around this book and rereading the six high-concept high-touch aptituted which is my favorite section of the book. The portfolio section really pulls us out of the book and into the real world into something that inspires.
