Chapter 5 (Story)

I highly believe in the idea that stories are easier to remeber than facts.

"Humans are not ideally set up to understand logic; they are ideally set up to understand stories."
-Roger C. Schank

If we we were born with only the Left side of our brain we would be computers, but we are not. Although computers are logical, they are not completely logical in a right brained existence which will always be the result for us and simply, we created the computer. I enjoyed the section on how medical students are required to take classes on narrative medicines. Empathy in terms of discovering what is a problem is very helpful. If we had computers to descipher a problem they would not fully asses a problem. Most incidents in patients are supported with knowing what symbolizes as the problem. Being a doctor is similar to drawing in a way that doctors need to know the story before they make a judgement. In drawing we need to see the whole picture before we see objects that represents symbols for what we think we see. By drawing from our memory we are only drawing from what the object is rather than it's actual reality of it's imperfections and space it occupies.

I enjoyed the section on writing a mini saga. It is a great start to discovering what more details you can include to make a story apart of a project or vision.
