I was extremely excited about this section because of Pink's activity in sitting in on a class directed by Betty Edwards's son.
"The naming of things is where you get in trouble" - Brain Bomeistler
I enjoy his comparrisons of what are common drawing mistakes. This can also be comparable to our thinking. We need to experiment with our understanding and create relationships with unlike things which can make us conceptually creative and innovative. I try to find comparisons in my everyday and through teaching you need to inspire to the specific age. You need to speak their language in order to get them invovled. Speaking acording to certain ages helps guide a person. I want to connect pieces of understanding to the best of my ability as a teacher.
Through the description of finding relationships and comparisons I've tried to relate to how I see. I thought of making a list of "scale comparisons," for teachers to use in a classroom. Sometimes I think in feet or inches or miles but those are less visually remembered rather than images.
again-with the over the top thinking too much..
